The Theragraphic Project

The Theragraphic Project is a photography initiative designed to promote therapeutic benefits through the art of capturing images. Founded by photographer Mitchell Brown, the project encourages people to engage in photography as a form of mindfulness, fostering mental well-being and creativity. Participants are invited to explore the world through their lenses, finding solace and joy in the process of creating meaningful visual stories. Photography offers a form of mindfulness, allowing you to immerse yourself in the present moment as you focus on capturing the beauty around you. The act of framing and capturing images can provide a sense of purpose and achievement, offering a mental escape from stressors. Additionally, being alone with your camera in nature can create a peaceful solitude, giving you a space to reflect and find calm in the midst of life's challenges.
The mind is a powerful, well tuned organ but for some of us the wires are crossed, our minds dont operate as should. Photography offers so many things but one thing stands out. It allows you to escape your mind. You become focussed, causing you to forget about the issues that affect you on a daily basis, if only for a brief time. Photography has become such a great tool for me, its my safe place, my freedom, my therapy. The camera soothes me, it grounds me. My goal here is to encourage and support others who want to use photography as a means of their own escape, their own therapy. The Theragraphic Project is the platform to do such a thing. Walk with me, let's escape together, one image at a time.
